Re-read all of 2 Corinthians 8 & 9. In light of Sunday’s sermon, what are you drawn to in this section of scripture? What questions do you have?
How do you see your relationship with generosity? Does it come easily to you? Why or Why not?
Pastor Sam differentiated between our obligation to financially support local worship and our offerings to meet immediate ministry needs. Think about your own life. How has the ministry of the local church been used to bless your faith journey? Do you have any memories of times that God has led you to give above and beyond this support for the local church? What was that experience like?
List out some concrete ways that your life is different than your non-believing neighbors because of your financial generosity. Looking at this list, how do you feel? Can you think of any times that your generosity has increased your faith or experience of God’s love?
Pastor Sam said that biblical generosity is about joy and trust. Interact with this. How does your trust of God effect your joy in giving?
What was God telling you this week? What have you done about it?
