1. Is Advent an important tradition for you? Do you spend time preparing your heart to celebrate Jesus' first advent? Why or why not?

2. When you read genealogies in Scripture, do you ever stop to consider why those stories are important to what God might be trying to tell you?

3. Jesus is the fulfillment of the prophecies and promises of God in Scripture. Does knowing this change how you interact with the stories in the Old Testament?

4. Hope is a powerful element of many of the stories presented in Jesus' genealogy. What do you place your hope in?

5. Jesse said that hope in Jesus is different because it is the only hope that is guaranteed. Do you believe that?
