Advent:  Week Three - (12/11/2022)

Questions:

1.        Ice Breaker:  What have been some of the greatest joys of your life?

2.        Read Matthew 2:1-12.  What stands out to you?  What have you learned about various people and their response to the knowledge that the Messiah was born in Bethlehem?  How do you see their response being similar to people you know today?

·          King Herod

·          Chief priests and scribes

·         The wise men

3.        The most important question in life is, “Who do you say he is?”

·          When did you realize who Jesus really was?

·          What impact did that realization have on your life?

4.       Read John 7:40-42.  What are reasons for why it is so difficult for people to see and accept Jesus for who he really is?

5.       Reflecting on our story thus far from Matthew 1-3, what are clear evidence of God’s sovereign hand over his redemptive story?  What evidence do you have that God has had a sovereign hand over your story?

6.       Over this Christmas season who are you most burdened for in wanting them to see and accept Jesus?  As a group, pray for each person that has been mentioned and exhort everyone to look for opportunities to share Christ with them.
