Discussion Questions

  1. Re-read all of Matthew 10 & 11. In light of Sunday’s sermon, what are you drawn to in this section of scripture? What questions do you have? How does this affect the way you think about mission in your life?

  2. Jesus boldly says in our text that it is him alone who reveals the Father. What does Jesus show you about God’s heart for you? Be as specific as possible.

  3. How does Jesus’ self-description as “lowly” and “humble” sit with you? How do you see this in Jesus’ relationship with you? How does his heart for you bless you?

  4. In what ways do you try and ‘pull your own plow’? What are the areas of life you try and control to bring about your own fulfillment and happiness? What would change in your life if you handed those to Jesus?

  5. How does Jesus’ invitation to rest in him change the way you think about the labor of the mission of God?

  6. What was God telling you this week? What have you done about it?
