Read Acts 24. Prayerfully consider what sticks out to you? write down any words, phrases or ideas that stick out to you before engaging the below questions.
Paul was stuck in a sort of limbo with his plans for mission to Rome for two years. Have you ever had a time where you felt like you knew what you were supposed to be doing, but you were stuck? How did Christ meet you in this time?
Paul spent his two years preaching the gospel to Felix and his wife even though they seemed really closed off to the gospel. Interact with this. What is the point of this sort of seemingly fruitless kingdom work? Especially in light of what Paul could have been doing if he were free from prison?
Are you actually open to obedience to Christ right now? How tightly do you hold to your plans/desires and how do you see that effect your relationship with Christ? What is your immediate response when your plans fall apart?
What are some practical outcomes if you were to say “yes” to Jesus in your immediate circumstances? What sorts of kingdom opportunities are in front of you right now?
What was God telling you this week? What have you done about it?
