Read all of Judges 14-16. In light of Sunday’s sermon, what are you drawn to in this section of scripture? What questions do you have?
Samson chose vengeance as his path toward justice. Thinking about the various escalations of his story. What could he have done differently?
Ezekiel 33 says that God does not delight in the death of the wicked, but scripture teaches that he is the ultimate judge of all sin and evil. How do you supposed this works for God’s character? How can he judge all sin if he hates the death of the wicked?
Pastor Sam said that our hearts of vengeance often take more subtle forms. We cut people out of our lives as “toxic” and we delight when bad things befall them. How have you seen this play out in your own life?
How do you discern when cutting off a relationship is a wise move for your safety and when it is an ungodly form of vengeance?
What was God telling you this week? What have you done about it?
