Read all of Matthew 10. What are you drawn to in this section of scripture? What questions do you have?
Pastor Sam said that all Christians are called and equipped to participate in mission. How do you feel about this? Are you evangelistic? What blocks to you see in your life from better engaging in the mission?
Pastor Sam warned that mission focused prayer will lead to missional movement. In other words, if you pray for the lost don’t be surprised when God gives you opportunities to share the gospel. How does this strike you? Does it encourage your to discourage you from praying for the lost? Have you seen this work out in your own life?
James 2:15 warns believers to seek to meet needs holistically, considering both the spiritual and physical needs of those around us. Consider how this works out in your own life. Where do you see the church meeting real physical needs? How does this connect to meeting spiritual needs?
IFC’s mission statement says “As Christ pours into you, He pours out of you.” Pastor Sam said that if we are struggling with being on mission the first question we should ask is whether or not we’re actually finding life in our own faith in Christ. What do you think about this statement? How has this worked out in your own experience of faith?
